Bear in mind...

Today I thought I would talk about movies because I have seen now, that some movies are trying to send a message. Some messages in movies are good and some... not so much. 

Have you seen the movie "Brave" ? 

I saw it. I think it's okay, bit's and pieces of it were funny.  Over all though it is just a kids movie. I liked how they drew the princess. They sure did a good job with her!

In the movie there is prince that is selfish and that prince gets turned into a bear. 

He is mean, angry and many people are afraid of him. I have met kids like him; many people can turn into that bear.    
Some of these kids that turn into that bear are not nice.

 They are mean, selfish and sometimes other kids are scared of them. 

Sometimes I find myself beeing a bear and I want to stop. It can be hard to stop but...  It is bad to want to be a bear. 

Have you seen the movie "Up". 

My brothers like this movie, they say it is good. I think you should watch it because I think it is funny. There are too many good parts to tell, so I won't say much more than it is worth watching! This is a good movie about determination, serving others and not being selfish. 

Some other movies I think are worth mentioning are Brother Bear, Pocahontas, Mulan  and even Avatar. All these movies are ones everyone in my family really enjoyed.

Paint of two

You know I like skateboarding but I also like to draw and paint . I find it fun to do different art.

I like to draw with different things like charcoal or pen or just good old fashioned pencils.

I prefer to paint with acrylics more than oil or water colors.

The one above is one I had to do for my art lesson. I don't really like painting these sorts of things though.
The one below is another one we did for an art lesson. We used rubber cement that we had to rub off with my thumb, which got pretty sore!

I think it was cool.

I like to skate at the Kurri Kurri skatepark because of it's design. It has great drops! There are a lot of neat and scary tricks you learn. I can already "drop-in,"roll backwards/switch, carve a bowl and some other things like flip around at the top of a ramp to go back down again.

Definitions: 
Drop In - Dropping the front wheels down and rolling into the ramp. This one can feel scary sometimes....

Rolling backwards - Rolling backwards or rolling with your opposite foot forward has a few names... fakie or switch are a couple.

Carve a bowl - go around a full or half bowl shape 

KICKFLIP

I think it is an awesome place! I am now getting skateboard lessons for $5 from a guy named Mitch... he can do a backflip onto his skateboard! He is teaching how to become a better skater. I really want to learn how to grind, ollie and do kick flips!!

What's Up?!

Hi! My name is Zed! I like to spend as much time at the skate park as I can. I am really good at riding bikes, scooters, ripstick but most of all a skateboard. I really like the skateboard the best.

There are 5 kids in my family and I am the oldest.

We are from Canada but moved to Australia almost 2 years ago because my Dad was given a better job. We still have 2 more years before we can go back to Canada.

                                         I like being in Australia because it's a real adventure.
